LAMO: The Game is a realtime competitive multiplayer battle royale. Survive the destruction and be the last LAMO standing to win! LAMO is also an augmented reality mobile app that connects with physical LAMO figures, bringing them to life!

As a senior developer on the project, I was responsible for writing the majority of the gameplay and systems code. I created the level destruction and combat mechanics that constituted the core of the game loop, and I implemented assets from the art team into the engine, preparing them for deployment.

Our team collaborated with the Photon multiplayer team, becoming one of the first developers to work with their then-experimental Quantum multiplayer package. Quantum is a deterministic realtime multiplayer solution. Creating LAMO: The Game using Quantum required writing the entire gameplay codebase in a custom domain-specific language, which provided cross-platform determinism and custom physics libraries. The result was a multiplayer experience that ran locally on each client, with only inputs being sent across the network; with this we achieved low bandwidth usage and full rollback support.

LAMO: The Game features fully destructible environments, a variety of weapon types, stage events, and a fully functional battle pass with high-quality skins and cosmetics. Our team worked with world-famous streamers such as Ninja and Lirik to create LAMO characters based on their likenesses, and we were even able to have them stream the game together during its beta period. The game was briefly live on Steam during the initial beta; development has since been handed off to a separate team.
